Starting Point Promo

I created this video for North Point Ministries to help launch a new Starting Point promotional campaign.  Find out more here… www.startingpoint.com

For this piece I wrote the script based on a creative brief from the NP media team and then compiled a combination of my own footage, some purchased clips, some stock footage I shot in Israel as well as personal home videos and my own 8mm transfers.  All to help communicate the greater story that is taking place in the world and how we can find our place in it.

Better World Drop Box

This is a motion graphics piece that I created for Better World Books.
http://www.betterworldbooks.com/content/dropbox/index.htm

The video was created to help promote their “Better World Books Drop Box”. The idea was to get businesses and organizations to participate by placing one of these books drops in a parking spot or on a side walk. The video will be shown at conferences and in their web site. Enjoy.

Beautiful Things

A motion graphics piece that I created for BigStuf Camps to go along with the song “Beautiful Things” by Gungor. The look of the video was based on the album artwork for the band. Enjoy!

Chick-fil-a “Fit To Lead”

This is a video I created for the Chic-fil-a Health and Wellness division. The video is geared towards operators to who will be a part of a health assessment and wellness program that is launching at the upcoming conference. It was shot on two 5d MKiis. Enjoy!

Pollie Award Winner

This political season I did a series of ads for a republican firm in DC called Craft Media/Digital. One of those ads recently won a Pollie Award. This was a whole new world for me… it’s fast paced and intense. I created most of the first cuts in around 5 hours then made tweaks from there. The spot that won the Pollie was actually the first spot I produced… kind of crazy. Enjoy.

“The Authentic Green”

Beat Prostate Cancer

This project is for BeatProstateCancer.com and RC Cancer Centers. The idea was to capture the stories of these prostate cancer survivors and promote a feeling of hope.  We are using a boxing theme to capture the fight that these men experienced.  The truth is that Prostate Cancer can be defeated if you find the right treatment.  All of these men had the same treatment and are all 5 year survivors.

Vocation 101

This is a piece that I created for The Fund for Theological Education.  The original script was written by a group of people that were exploring the meaning of “Vocation”.  I helped them reshape the script and put the original concept into this animated video format.  Original music was written by Haddon Givens Kime.

i’m Third

Check out this short music video that I shot and edited for Xtreme @ North Point Community Church.  It’s a new series that just launched for all of the middle schoolers.  Listen to the song and you’ll get the idea of what “I’m Third” is all about.  I shot this on my GH1 on a white syke wall at Clark Pro Media.  We used two Kino Flo Diva 400 lights and a skateboard dolly.  Enjoy!

White Board I Red Couch

.

This shoot was a lot of fun.  These whiteboard sessions are part of a DVD series being released by Giant Impact called “Giant Voices” and this edition is called “White Board /  Red Couch”.

We decided on the look and feel for these sessions a few weeks ago but it all came together once we found the location.  For location scouting we worked with Tara Makarechi with Beck.  She helped us find an awesome location which ended up being on the 30th floor of Two Alliance Center in Buckhead.  It was a little risky since we had to deal with a ton of daylight AND cut off the A/C while we were shooting.  But… in the end it wasn’t too hot and we found a set up that really featured the look of the location.  For set design we worked with Carrie Allen, with Orchestrate in Atlanta.  The design was simple but had a great vibe in the large open space.

The lighting was pretty simple.  I used an Arri Fresnel 1k with a half CTB (to get us closer to daylight) as my key light.  Then for warmth I used a 1K soft as fill. We used three DSLR cameras.  Two Canon 5D MK2′s and a Panasonic GH1.  All three shoot 1080p 24fps and capture some amazing images.

For the interviews I used a homemade slider dolly that I got from whisper productions.  The DSLR mounts right on top and slides across rails or any flat surface.  The table worked for this shoot and it added a nice production value to the interviews.

For audio we used a shotgun mic, wireless lav, field mixer and a ZOOM H4N to record sound…

Dr. Cloud was great on camera and honestly… this was some of the most insightful content I’ve heard on leadership.  Take a peak at the screen shots and plan to buy the finished product once it’s released.

Orange 2011 Promo

I shot and edited this promo for The Orange Conference.  Orange is a conference that is put on by ReThink… check them out here.

This promo was a spoof of a popular Old Spice commercial… which was actually shot without using a green screen.  But… we didn’t quite have the budget for that so we decided to use one.  Check out the original and compare for yourself…

Where Is God’s Love…

Check out this motion graphics piece that I created for a Buckhead Church sermon.  The concept for the video came straight from the sermon notes.  The idea that life is good and God is good until something bad happens.  Then we ask… where is God’s love now?

Good Friday 2010

The concept for these videos was to bring people into the story of Good Friday.  Our goal was to tell the story from the perspective of an eye witness and allow people to experience the events and emotion in first person.  The auditorium was set up in surround sound and all of the music and sound design on these videos were mixed in surround to add to the experience.  After these videos were finished their was an original score written by one of our local musicians.  The night also included original arrangements of songs done only on three keyboards and percussion instruments along with a 15 minute message.

Icon City “Be The Remedy”

I just finished this video promo for “Icon City” a gathering that is happening out in Bend, Oregon.  The video was to promote an initiative where people receive weekly text messages about the needs of people in their city.  A cool idea that allows people to help locally by doing small things to meet the needs of people around them.  The project involved a little scripting, a half day shoot with Mark Gibson (a local Atlanta artist), FCP editing and some motion graphics work.  Here are some stills from the video.

White Flag

I got the opportunity to shoot this “Title Package” for a sermon series for North Point Ministries.  The sermon series was focused on the book of Jonah and those of us who are running or have run from God in the past.  Cool concept.  I shot all the footage on a 5D MKII and used Magic Bullet Looks to retouch the video.

The final edit and motion graphics were added by the Media Team at North Point.  Great job guys!

Here is a pic of us in action with our buddy “Lighting” who we met on the shoot.
